Each industry has its own slew of acronyms and initialisms. I enjoy handholding my clients, particularly first-time homebuyers and sellers, through the process. A good deal of that conversation involves explaining real estate’s terms and lingo.
Today I finished the coursework to gain another designation. I received NAR’s (the National Association of REALTORS®) C2EX endorsement. While adding it to my signature info for outgoing emails, I wondered what I could do to explain these designations to those outside the industry. After all, each designation took hard work and commitment and is important to me for a specific reason. So, I created a webpage that explains my designations. Then I linked those designations for users to easily access the site.
Here they are along with the descriptions. I’m proud of each one of these. They make me a better all-around agent for my clients and for those who may choose to work with me in the future.
Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®)
The Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) designation is for real estate buyer agents who focus on working directly with buyer-clients at every stage of the home-buying process.
Seller Representative Specialist (SRS)
The Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) designation is the premier credential in seller representation. It is designed to elevate professional standards and enhance personal performance. The designation is awarded to real estate practitioners by the Real Estate Business Institute (REBI) who meet specific educational and practical experience criteria.
e-PRO®
NAR’s e-PRO® certification program helps REALTORS® master the advanced digital marketing techniques of today. With the e-PRO® certification, REALTORS® increase its ability to reach customers, expand its capabilities, and build trust by safeguarding client information.
At Home with Diversity®
The At Home with Diversity® certification enables REALTORS® to work successfully with and within a rapidly changing multicultural market. It teaches diversity sensitivity, how it applies to U.S. fair housing laws in the business, and ways to develop professional guidelines for working with people in the increasingly multicultural real estate market.
Commitment to Excellence (C2EX)
The National Association of REALTORS® created the Commitment to Excellence program to encourage the professional development of REALTORS® by utilizing a multifaceted approach aimed at offering opportunities for continuing education and professional growth. A member’s Commitment to Excellence is a continual practice, and a lifelong commitment to superior professionalism and providing first-rate customer service.
